CHOSEN DAILY
Faith for the athlete. Identity beyond performance.
TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL
YOU WERE CHOSEN BEFORE YOU WERE CELEBRATED
SCRIPTURE
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
— 1 Peter 2:9 KJV
CHOSEN TRUTH
I do not compete for my identity. I compete from my identity.
THE HUDDLE
Before anyone knew your name, recorded your stats, celebrated your victories, or recognized your potential, God had already chosen you.
Performance can change from one competition to the next. Rankings rise and fall. Some days you will win, and other days you will be challenged. But none of those things can add to—or take away from—the identity God has already given you.
You do not have to perform to become worthy. Compete with freedom, knowing that your value was settled long before the scoreboard began.
COMPETE TODAY
Encourage a teammate before focusing on your own performance. Remind someone else that their value is greater than today’s results.
PRAYER
Lord, help me remember that my identity is found in You—not in my performance. Give me the confidence to compete with passion, the humility to serve others, and the courage to honor You in everything I do. Amen.
YOU WERE CHOSEN BEFORE YOU WERE CELEBRATED
A daily place for Scripture, encouragement, prayer, and truth—created to remind athletes that performance may introduce you, but it does not define you.
CHOSEN IN TESTIMONY
Your story may be the encouragement another athlete needs. Tell us how faith has carried you through competition, adversity, injury, pressure, or purpose.
